Boston City kid Ren McCormack moves to the small town of Bomont where rock ‘n’ roll and dancing have been banned following the tragic death of five teenage revellers.

Dance-mad Ren’s rebellious spirit brings him into conflict with the town council and the powerful Reverend Shaw (Dennis Quaid). After falling in love with the Minister’s daughter Ariel his dancing moves soon shake up the populace and get them jiving down to rock ‘n’ roll.
