Belle is a girl who is dissatisfied with life in her small provincial French town. The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell for his arrogance and because he could not love. The only way he could break the spell was to learn to love another and earn her love before the last petal from his enchanted rose fell, which would bloom until his twenty-first birthday. But who could love a beast?
Belle’s father Maurice takes a wrong turn in the woods and is imprisoned by The Beast for trespassing. Belle offers herself as a prisoner in place of her father. At first Belle sees him as nothing more than a monster and he thinks she is stubborn. But after befriending his bizarre mix of enchanted staff she realises that beauty really is skin deep, and that underneath his terrifying exterior beats the heart of a prince.
